Elspeth today is not the woman she once was. Most remember her as the humble and timid girl she once was, but because of the trauma forced on her mind, she has developed a few traits that are not in her true nature. For one, she is very frivolous. The demeanor she maintains seems as if she simply does not have a care in the world. Nothing can take away the bounce in her step or the smile on her face. Elspeth constantly seeks fun. She is never one to deny a raging party or fruity cocktail. She loves the nightlife and anything glamorous, which feeds into her need to be the star of the show. Along with her desire to be pampered and spoiled, compliments are her next favorite thing. Elspeth loves to talk about herself. In her opinion, the world should revolve around her. As long as she is getting her way, Elspeth won't go off the deep end. She has a habit of throwing temper tantrums and will act psychotically if someone does not calm her down. Her sense of right and wrong is simply nonexistent. Many people have gotten hurt or killed simply because they told her "no". Elspeth is downright insane. Not only does she hear and see things that aren't there, but she insists she's perfectly fine. She is inclined to do naughty things for fun.

Backstory

1400's

Elspeth was born in 1415, 3 months after her brother Callum. Because her brother was born a human Dearth, she was procreated in order to someday marry and create the next Alpha. Growing up Elspeth was the most beautiful in the pack and was used to being admired. Jealousy was a common feeling felt towards Elspeth. Her father was the Alpha and punished anyone who picked on her. Girls envied her and were reluctant to include her in things. Boys, on the other hand, flocked her, hoping to become her mate and one day become Alpha. Elspeth had trouble with opening up emotionally to people, for she feared they would take advantage of her. Even for a confident girl like herself, Elspeth's biggest insecurity was that no one truly wanted to get to know her, just use her for her beauty or power.

 

Callum and his best friend Finn Amos were her closest comrades when she was a child. To Elspeth, Finn wasn't like the other boys. He was sweet and considerate. Those two boys were her rock. Everything they did, she wanted to do as well, and vice versa. Her relationship with her brother Callum had always been an indestructible one. While he defended her against lovesick boys, Elspeth defended him against the overbearing treatment of their father Eric. 

 

Eric was a tumultuous man and often took his anger out on Callum. He was berated daily and Elspeth was always there to pick up the pieces Eric obliterated Callum into. Their mother Edith was a meek woman who didn't dare speak against the word of her husband. She emotionally detached herself from her children in order to accept Eric's parenting. Elspeth's relationship with Eric was troublesome as well. Although he appeared to be a proud and loving father to her, behind closed doors he was judgemental and critical. Eric monitored Elspeth's every move, even the smallest mistakes were strongly reprimanded. He expected the best from her and nothing less. Oftentimes Eric would use his Occultism to spellbind her into doing what he wanted. No one truly knew about the toxic relationship between Elspeth and her father - not even Callum or Finn. 

 

In 1439, Finn confessed his deep love for Elspeth and he asked her to be his mate. Her insecurities caused her to be incapable of accepting his proposal, therefore she politely turned him down. When Eric heard that Elspeth had cut the ties between her and a future Alpha, he was furious. Over the years, Finn began to drift away from her and Callum. .

 

Callum died in 1483 after being crushed underneath rock falling off a mountainside. Finn was disbanded for unknown reasons. At the death of her brother and the growing spite between her and her father, Elspeth left the pack with Finn. After leaving the pack, Elspeth's memory got fuzzy. All she remembers is a strong connection developing between her and Finn until suddenly one day she woke up and realized she was deeply in love with him.

 

1500's

In the early 16th century, Elspeth and Finn went to Spain. Finn became an explorer, which is how they gained their fortune. He would leave for months at a time. While he was away, Elspeth got a lot of time to herself. She thought about Finn so much to the point where she began to obsess. When it finally hit her that her feelings for Finn might not have been as true as she thought, she decided to leave him. She left him a note that read "don't come looking for me" and began a life on her own.

 

After her departure from Spain, Elspeth slowly started to go insane. The numerous spellbindings her father had placed on her were constantly being triggered. Each time she was triggered her brain was being fried. The trauma on her brain practically caused it to collapse in on itself, and from that, Elspeth became completely unrecognizable.

 

Elspeth made her way through life by marrying wealthy men. 

 

1800's

Elspeth reconciled with Callum in the early 19th century. 

 

1900's

One evening at a ball hosted at an Estate home, Elspeth ran into Essro Allenby, Callum's former father-figure, and mentor. Almost instantly she was attracted to Essro and she put in a great effort to get him to return the affection. The emotional loss of her father left a big hole in Elspeth's heart that she was hoping Essro would help fill. Seeing how much healing she needed, Essro chose to stay with her and help her. She placed a marking on him very early in their relationship. 

 

In 1923, Elspeth became a popular flapper girl, performer, and model. Lucian Othello became captivated when he saw her dancing one night. The two had a couple flings and sexual encounters over the years on and off. He developed an undue fascination with her and endured countless numbers of rejection.

 

After dumping the flapper persona, Elspeth became a dressmaker. Essro began working as a blacksmith and part-time anonymous author. Elspeth enjoyed the fame and fortune that Essro earned from his literature. Despite their riches, living as Rogues became increasingly hard for them. Essro then created a dream to start his own Abstruse pack. It took many years but eventually the pack was formed. Elspeth was overjoyed to become a powerful Consort. 

 

In the later 1900's Elspeth convinced Essro to take Vilissagen with her in order to be human again. Eventually, she got him to comply with her plan that failed after the first attempt. The chemical reaction from the potion forced Essro into a 7-month coma. 

When he awoke, he resumed his relationship with Elspeth and his place as Alpha. The trust between them wasn't as strong as before, for Essro began to feel manipulated by Elspeth on a regular basis. Although he tried not to blame her for treating others as she once was treated, his patience started wearing thin. Because of this, children quickly grew out of the question for him.
