The Alpha is the king of the pack. They control all of the Pack members. The Alpha is the boss and the Alpha can sentence a pack member to punishment or even death if one does not obey Pack Law.

They dictate when and where battles take place, which werewolf is banned or joined, where the hunters go with their troops, etc.

Alpha's have to be males, a tradition kept since the beginning of time.

The Consort is the mate of the Alpha.

 

responsibilities

They often don't have many duties to the pack, for the Consort is more of a title than a role. Consorts point their fingers and ask for them to be done. Their decisions are respected but never the final say. All actions or conclusions made by consorts must be approved by their mate.

Being the secondhand has nothing to do with age but rather mental maturity, experience, and loyalty to the Alpha.

If born a male, they are the next in line to take over the pack by default. If born a female, her mate will become Alpha. If problems occur and the spawn is not fit to take on the responsibility, then the current Alpha will choose someone from the pack they find suitable.
